Emily Dickinson: Envelope Poems with transcriptions by Marta L. Werner and Jen Bervin
Christine Burgin / New Directions, 2016. Pictorial cloth, 95 pp., illustrated in color. Some minor edge-wear. Very good overall.
One of our favorite publications of the past decade or so was The Gorgeous Nothings, a beautiful book of the Emily Dickinson's poems written on carefully unfolded correspondence. This volume is just those images & transcriptions in bite size to carry with you. We can feel the physical care she took in writing these small treasures in her later life, and see her mind moving as she made corrections and carefully laid out the lines--the tactile sense translated to the intellect. And we love a good pencil.
